Subsets of BLM data were used to generate data for this program. In cases where the data was found to be inconsistent, incompatible, or incorrect, these data sources were ignored. In cases where there is a data discrepancy the official PLSS records should be used. Additionally, certain polygons are algorithmically generated using the outer bounds from the PLSS data set. In all cases, this data is only to be used for informational purposes and cannot and should not be used as an official boundary without a formal survey provided by a professional land surveyor.
Users of the PLSS data should realize that the data are provided “as is”, and the U. S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) assumes no responsibility for errors or omissions. The User assumes the entire risk associated with its use of these data. The BLM shall not be held liable for any use or misuse of the data described and/or contained herein. The User bears all responsibility in determining whether these data are fit for the User’s intended use.
The information contained in these data is dynamic and may change over time. The data are not better than the original sources from which they were derived, and both scale and accuracy may vary across the data set and may not depict accurately on the Service. These data may not have the accuracy, resolution, completeness, timeliness, or other characteristics appropriate for applications that potential users of the data may contemplate. The User is encouraged to carefully consider the content of the metadata file associated with these data. These data are neither official records, nor legal documents and must not be used as such. Official records may be referenced at the BLM State offices. Please report any errors in the data to the BLM office where the lands are located.
The U. S. Bureau of Land Management should be cited as the data source in any products derived from these data. Any Users wishing to modify the data are obligated to describe the types of modifications they have performed. The User specifically agrees not to misrepresent the data, nor to imply that changes made were approved or endorsed by BLM. This information may be updated without notification. By using these data you hereby agree to these conditions.
No warranty is made by the U. S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) for use of the data for purposes not intended by BLM. The BLM assumes no responsibility for errors or omissions. No warranty is made by the U. S. Bureau of Land Management as to the accuracy, reliability, relevancy, timeliness, utility, or completeness of these data, maps, geographic location for individual use or aggregate use with other data; nor shall the act of distribution to contractors, partners, or beyond, constitute any such warranty for individual or aggregate data use with other data. Although these data have been processed successfully on computers of BLM, no warranty, expressed or implied, is made by BLM regarding the use of these data on any other system, or for general or scientific purposes, nor does the fact of distribution constitute or imply any such warranty. In no event shall the BLM have any liability whatsoever for payment of any consequential, incidental, indirect, special, or tort damages of any kind, including, but not limited to, any loss of profits arising out of the use or reliance on the geographic data or arising out of the delivery, installation, operation, or support by BLM. A “data set” is any set of information electronically generated or stored by Railroad Commission of Texas (Commission) systems, including, but not limited to, the Commission’s Geographic Information System, Online Research Query System, or Mainframe System. The digital map data available for purchase was generated from the Commission’s Geographic Information System. Base map information was obtained from U.S. Geological Survey 7.5 minute quadrangle maps. Patent Survey lines from Texas General Land Office maps were interpreted onto the U.S. Geological Survey base. Oil and gas well data and pipeline data were obtained from public records at the Commission.
The data sets provided by this system are continually being updated and refined and are provided as a public service for informational purposes only. They are not intended to be used as an authoritative public record for any geographic location and have no legal force or effect. Users are responsible for checking the accuracy, completeness, currency and/or suitability of these data sets themselves. The Commission specifically disclaims any and all warranties, representations or endorsements, expressed or implied, with regard to these data sets, including, but not limited to, the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement of privately owned rights.
Note: Digital map data may not be used for pipeline location purposes in lieu of calling an official notification center prior to excavating. It is a violation of Texas law to fail to make the required 8-1-1 calls.
